Summer Weight Training/Football Calendar
Summer is an extremely important time for the Ranger Football program as we prepare for the upcoming season. If you are a player (or the parent of a player), check the items below for ways you should be involved. If you have questions, contact a coach.
RANGER FOOTBALL SUMMER SCHEDULE
All players freshman through senior are expected to participate in all summer activities. Preparing the athlete's bodies, minds and our team culture is extremely important during the summer months.
(Every player will be assigned to a summer lift group that will meet at one of three different times-8 AM, 9:30 AM or 11 AM. Soph-Senior players will be assigned their group before the end of the spring semester. Freshman will be assigned to either the 9:30 AM or 11 AM group--see the attached Freshman Calendar)
Ranger Football Camps are for all players planning to participate in football during the upcoming fall season. All players are expected to participate in their respective camps. These camps will prepare players for the upcoming season through numerous drills and fundamental skills work, as well as installation of offensive and defensive schemes. These camps are helmets/shoulder pads camps and there is no cost for these camps.
Varsity Camp: Open to all juniors, seniors and selected sophomores
Fresh/Soph Camp: Open to all freshman and selected sophomores
Periodically throughout the summer, we will participate in 7-on-7 competitions with surrounding schools in preparation for our season.
(7-On-7 Dates--SEE THE 2017 SUMMER CALENDAR FOR DATES)
*These 7-on-7 competitions are invitation only...players will be notified if they are expected to attend.
The Benton Ranger Football Skills & Drills Youth Football Camp for incoming 1st through 8th graders will be June 6-8 at the Benton High School Football Field. Camp times are 9 AM-10:15 AM for 1st-4th and 10:30 AM-Noon for 5th-8th.
Campers will learn techniques and fundamentals for all skills and lineman positions that will help them become better players in their respective summer recreational leagues, as well as prepare them for the possibility of playing for the high school Benton Rangers football team someday. Each day, campers will divide into groups for drill work...the same drills the high school players utilize everyday. In addition, the camp will conclude with a punt/pass/kick competition for all players. In addition, 4th-8th grade will participate in a 7-on-7 competition the last day of camp.
This is a shorts, tshirts, cleats camp. The cost of the camp is $40 and this includes a camp t-shirt & a signed "Returning Starters" poster.
